We Are Back!
April
15th 2010
Y es the move and transition to our web sites new home is finally completed. Dewmotorsports.com is now up and running and on our new webhosting service. The Domain is now working properly again and the webmaster has been quarantined as the team cracks the whip to make sure all the news is being reported and up to date. However during the transition the latter part of last seasons news and information got lost. That said we are happy to be back and sharing our site with everyone who stops by. During this downtime the team has been hard at work prepping the Limited Late Models as well as the Late Model for the coming 2010 season. Even the remote possibility that the #38 might make it out this coming season.
As many of you know there is a new Late Model (L:imited) racing series this coming race season that will travel to many of Ontario's finest tracks. All top notch facilities and some of Ontario's best drivers will be competing. This series will be making stops at Sauble Speedway, Sunset Speedway, Barrie Speedway, Peterborough Speedway and Kawartha Speedway. Inside Track as well as Stefco and McColl's Chasis are the people behind this series that I am sure will be one of the most talked about events this coming season and atop most race fans must see events. Dew Motorsports is excited about this new series and has every intention to competing in this travelling series. Also look to see the #25ON to hit the track this coming season as well at Kawartha Speedway. The team has also been discussing other racing venues as we try to hammer out where we will be racing this coming season. Keep an eye out on dewmotorsports.com in the near future for more information on our planned shcedule as well as the new look of the cars. Glad to have you back here at our site! thanks for stopping by.

Dave Waite Gets Ready To Begin His Summertime Ritual
April
15/2010
Dew Motorsports reported this news story on our facebook page as well as our forum while we were transferring the website. However now that we are back up and running, we thought it would only be right to post this news story up in case you have missed it. This news release was written by the fine folks over at Kawartha Speedway about a week and a half ago, so its not that old at all.
"By Jim Clarke, Kawartha Speedway PR/Clarke Motorsports Communications
To say that Dave Waite is excited about the start of Kawartha Speedway’s 2010 season would be a definite understatement. If you’ll forgive the obvious pun, he can’t wait. The 50 year-old veteran racer from Carleton Place, Ontario says making the regular 3 hour trek from his home near the nation’s capital to a venue he calls his absolute favourite racetrack is the highlight of the week for his family, friends and crew members.
“We’ve been doing this for 26 years and I’ve been to a lot of different places,” said Waite. “The staff at Kawartha is easily the best I’ve seen at any speedway. No matter how well we do on the racetrack, everyone we meet greets us with a smile and is very friendly. From the moment we come through the tunnel and get to the sign-in table, our entire team feels respected and appreciated. That makes a big difference and keeps us wanting to come back again.”
Like most short-track racers, Waite says his biggest disappointment is the cost of the sport. He admits that if it came down to funding the entire operation out of his own pockets, he’d probably step away from running regularly. His car owner Dave Wood and support from long time sponsors Jade Transportation, A & B Ford, Wood Construction, Norcan Hydraulic Turbine and his own company, Sign Design help keep the finances in check.
“Some people go boating or fishing. We’re racers,” Waite said emphatically. “Our team travels together and we stay at the Beavermead Campground overnight before heading back home. Some people say we’re crazy to drive 3 hours to race every weekend, but we’ve met so many wonderful people and really had a chance to get to know the area. We love it, so our response is that we’d be crazy not to.”
