W
OW: If this is any indication then LOOK OUT, this is going to be one BIG year, double last years memberships sold and more spectators than you can even imagine for the kick off party, car show and membership drive, what a day. First of all let me thank Team Auto Pro (Ross & Spencer MacPherson) Team Waste Management (Sean Kennedy), Wally Lynch, Matt Mould, Todd Gow and of course Tim and Liz Dorning for making sure the ride car was done and present for this very important first event of 2007. The weather man could not have been more on target than what he was with wall to wall sunshine and very warm temperatures. I can not thank everyone enough, the teams that helped make this day at Broadway Bar & Grill so great, to the record setting numbers of drivers who showed up to register for 2007, indicating once again that CAPITAL CITY SPEEDWAY is here to stay for a very long, long time. Again special thanks goes out to Tim Dorning who worked until all hours to get the ride car done, and a special Thanks to Dave Waite (Dew Motorsports late model driver from Perth) who bend over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed to have the ride car ready for the Sa
turday display. The response to the cars that where on display was unreal, as one after another people made their way in and out of the ride car, and many folks inquired about scheduling a time in the car. I have to be quite honest, I have been incredibly impressed by the support that has been showed from day one and today was no different as once again everyone pointed out how much they want the track to succeed, not just the ride car program which has been met with just an outstanding response, but everything that has been going on. And then to see such an unreal sign up day, really makes one think that we are in for one incredible summer if the weather man can just cooperate for the season. Another thing I have to point out is that there was an unheard of number of Lady drives sign up for the 2007 season campaign and I think that the girls who where there last year have got to take a lot of credit for this as you gals set the standard and have made it interesting for more and more female drivers to get involved, which if you have been ready this particular web site you will know we believe whole heartily that this is good for our sport. THANK YOU . We would like to point out that opening night ride car bookings are almost full but we are taking then for anytime during the year including cooperate bookings. We should have the points members listed by tomorrow night at the latest and how they are listed is how they will line up for the first heat race opening night.
Capital City Speedway Press Release
Well not quite sure where we start here as it has been a very busy season for the Dew Motorsports Team to say the least, and this group will play a big part not only here at Capital City Speedway but other tracks also. First off besides the late model teams that will be fielded they will now also field two or more thunder cars, one which will be ready and registered for opening night and a challenge of the Drummonds Gas Thunder Car Championship. Dave Waite who will be ready on opening night with the D. Wood Construction, Tim's Carpentry, Benson Auto Parts (Perth), SignDesign Monte Carlo #25 Thunder car will also do duties behind the wheel of the # 25 Late Model. As you can tell by the picture this teams favorite color in 2007 fits in very well with the speedways favorite colors also. Bruce Baldock will also be behind the wheel of one if not two cars out of Dew Motorsports also as he will wheel the #99 Late Model as well as the #55 Thunder Car which should be ready for action later in the season. Now add on top of this the addition of new driver Dan McHattie who will be the wheel man for the updated #88 Late Model and well you get the picture, the Dew Motorsports Camp has not had a lot of down time this off season. It is really great to see the Dew Crew back in full force at Capital City speedway and look for this entire team to make a difference in the racing that takes place this summer.
